“The Solid Gold Band” – Welcome to the party! 2016 marks another year of performing at RCD. They are a professional band playing danceable classic rock/variety music. In presenting the “Soul of Rock” show, they feature the great music of Rock’s first four decades. The group’s current version represents one of the Minnesota’s longest running active rock bands.Sponsored by the Chaska RCD Entertainment Sponsors.
Hornucopia is a band of 11 talented musicians from the Twin Cities and upper Midwest area. Their performances are known as innovative Tribute Shows. Distinct from tribute bands that play homage to a single band or style of music, Hornucopia pays tribute to many bands that feature horn sections in the rock era. This initiative features music that spans the past 6 decades (1960 – today) and celebrates multiple genres of music.
MN Valley Community Band Concert goers can expect to hear music of stage and screen, as well as the “Star and Stripes Forever.” This band is made up of 40 plus dedicated members from Chaska and the surrounding communities who enjoy playing for the public. Bring your favorite lawn chair or picnic blanket and enjoy Chaska’s version of the ‘Boston Pops!’ Barry Fox-Director. Sponsored by the Chaska Park and Rec Dept.
Mu Daiko- Mu Daiko performs a variety of traditional and contemporary works, ranging from traditional taiko repertoire to original pieces composed by its members. The group regularly premieres new work at its annual performances, continuing to stretch the boundaries of the art form and contributing to the innovation of American taiko. Members perform in over 100 educational and concert performances annually for schools, community organizations, and corporations throughout Minnesota and the Midwest. Through studio classes and school residencies over the past decade, the Mu Performing Arts taiko program has taught thousands of students of all ages and abilities.
The band’s repertoire features the old favorite traditional dance tunes and songs, rarer pieces collected on trips to Ireland, as well as material from related Celtic traditions. Barra performs on stages across the Upper Midwest, sharing the sheer fun and vitality of a musical tradition loved the world over.
The River City Singers- (Formerly the Chaska Community Choir) A perfect way to top off a great week-end of activities at Chaska River City Days. Under the direction of Caroline Swanson, the choir will be performing their annual concert at the Chaska High School auditorium.
Eastern Carver County Schools Mid Level & High School Bands – Jazz Ensemble, Garage Band, Movie Band, and Country Bluegrass Bands. Come and listen to groups of dedicated students who wish to entertain you. Under the direction of Eric Songer and co-
directors Heidi Songer and Kris Stauffer.
Jason Rohman – Rohman has recorded and performed for over 17 years. Rohman provides a variety of acoustic songs both original and cover songs and skillfully entertains a crowd with singer/songwriter, rock, pop, original and christian songs. He will open the Friday night entertainment series at the Gazebo and also perform at the Breakfast for Charity on Sunday morning.

MEDALLION HUNT– The first clue will be posted on Saturday, July 23. The next one starts Monday-Saturday. The following clues will be posted on this web site, www.chaskarivercitydays.com . See the medallion hunt on the events page. Clues will also be posted at the Chaska Community Center, the Chaska Historical Society and on the Kiosk located on 4th and Walnut street at 2pm until the medallion is found. Winner receives $100.00 in Chaska Bucks. This event sponsored by U-Can-Tan Tanning and the RCD committee.

CHASKA HISTORICAL SOCIETY – Join us as we trace the history of the Coopers–from junk peddling to the supermarket we know today. Watch the developments as Lil Schultz and father Marvin teamed up with the Coopers to bring the supermarket–a new style of shopping–to Chaska. Get to know the management and celebrate the employees who helped make it happen. Also on display: Jonathan in Chaska: 50 Years! 1967-2017. Informational boards on the history of this New Community. 2st Annual RCD CAR SHOW – A variety of car clubs from the area will be showcasing their cars at the RCD Community Parade on Sunday (1:00pm) and then parking in the City Square Park following the parade. Public is invited to vote on their favorite ride!
All attendees get to vote for their favorite rides with the top 2 finishers in each category will go home with a RCD Car Show Award Plaque. Also there will be a Mayor’Choice Award and a Ambassador’s Choice Award.
2nd Annual “Second Street Art on the Walk-2017”
During RCD, you can see Fine Art everywhere-near the Curling Center, on the Square, and also one block south of City Square Park on Second St. East. On Saturday, July 29, you can visit studios and art shops along Second Street and meet some the Chaska’s artists. You will find fine art inside and outside, the result of a growing art presence in historic downtown Chaska. So stroll on down to Second Street and SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL ARTISTS!
ON TRACK TO END DOMESTIC VIOLENCE CHASKA RIVER CITY DAYS 5 K RUN & FUN WALK
Saturday, July 29. The 5 K Run is a USATF Sanctioned Event. The 5 K run starts and ends near Chaska’s notable City Square Park in downtown Chaska. Participants run on paved asphalt through downtown Chaska then along the Minnesota River which lead them to and onto part of our winding paved trail system. Trophies and Medals awarded to the 5 K runners.
New for 2017: A FUN WALK has been added this year! Walkers will be guided down and around Courthouse Lake. Group rates for family and friends. Strollers Welcome.
Proceeds to benefit the Southern Valley Alliance for Battered Women.

COUPLES GOLF SCRAMBLE – (Pending for 2017) a golf scramble will be held at the Chaska Par 30 on Sunday, July 30, 2017, 7am-4pm. Green fees are $12.00 per person. (Pull cart included in fee). Love INC of Eastern Carver County provides a means for local area churches and other organizations of our community to work together to serve those among us who are in need of assistance. FRIENDS OF CHASKA COMMUNITY LIBRARY USED BOOK SALE – Used book sale will be held at the City Hall Plaza on Thursday from 3pm to 8pm Friday from 9am-8pm, and Saturday from 9am-3pm. Proceeds are used to enhance the Chaska Library and educational programming.
